These have hash lines along the side of the unit to help you keep track of how much liquid it is currently holding. What makes these unique is that they can actually be used to measure various amounts of liquids at once thanks to these hash lines. In other words, it can save you some time and resources when precision is not the number one factor. Just remember, you won’t get as accurate a read as the other options mentioned above.

Mohr and Serological Pipettes

Sub-types of the measuring pipette, both Mohr and Serological pipettes are worth mentioning separately for their subtle differences. In the case of Mohr pipettes, you can keep track of it by the hash marks that go down and stop before the tip. Alternatively, serological models actually have the graduations all the way down, continuing to the tip. During experiments when you need to make sure the pipette is completely emptied afterwards, you might also want to use a serological blow-out model. These are designed with an open back like a straw, allowing you to seal it with your thumb and then blow the rest of the liquid out when you are finished.

Of course, if you shop with the right company, you will also find that there are more specialized options to choose from. For instance, you might want repeater pipettes, which will continually provide the same amount of liquid. Alternatively, multi-channel pipettes are another option you might consider.
